Our Offerings
The education at Angel's Ray is divided into two areas of focus. Children in the age groups 12 months to 4 years old form part of the Nursery School. This focuses on play as a medium of learning. Children between the ages of 4 years and 6 years old form part of the pre-school. Here a strong emphasis is placed on academics. Children are encouraged to develop to their full capacity in preparation for primary school.
12 months to 3 years
Children in this age group learn through play. The learning is activity based as well as free-learning. The children's gross motor skills and language is fine tuned, preparing them for fine motor skill development and comprehension for the next age group
3 years to 4 years
In this age group children are still encouraged to learn through play. However, a stronger concentration on class-based work begins to take place.
4 years old to 5 years old (Grade RR)
Children are taught to memorize and recognize the alphabet in lower and upper caps in preparation for reading. They are taught numeracy skills which includes number learning and counting. Colours, shapes and objects are also emphasised on. All in which guides the cognitive and physical development of the child.
5 years to 6 years old (Grade R)
The continued learning of literacy, to enable them to read, numeracy, for the understanding of a basic concept of maths, takes place. The children are nurtured in a manner that prepares them emotionally for Grade 1.
